International rugby league returns next month when England host Samoa for an historic two-test series.

A host of player’s from Shaun Wane’s 31-strong England performance squad were in action over the weekend as the 2024 Betfred Super League regular season came to a frantic end.

Wigan duo Liam Marshall and Jake Wardle were both on the scoresheet for the Warriors during their League Leaders clinching victory against Salford on Thursday.

Fellow Warrior Junior Nsemba – who was this weekend named in the Super League Dream Team alongside three Wigan teammates including England’s Wardle, Marshall and Luke Thompson – continued his impressive breakout season with another 100+ run metre performance against a weakened Red Devils outfit.

Hull KR half-back Mikey Lewis was integral to the Robins’ win against Leeds on Friday – Lewis set up two tries as Hull KR secured a top two spot in Super League for the first time, earning them an all important home Semi-Final in a fortnights time.

England’s Warrington contingent had an enjoyable evening against bottom placed London on Friday Night. Matty Ashton scored three tries and set up another, with James Harrison and Ben Currie also crossing the whitewash, while George Williams and Danny Walker both had try assists to their name.

Morgan Knowles was on the scoresheet for the Saints during their final round defeat to Leigh. His England teammate but opponent on the night, Robbie Mulhern, had a busy evening for the Leopards, running for 144 metres from 21 carries during a tough 61-minute display.

Over in the NRL, England and Syndey Roosters duo Victor Radley and Dom Young were both on the scoresheet for their side’s finals victory against Manly. Radley, who returned to the side after injuring his shoulder a few weeks ago, crossed for the opening try of the game, while Young closed the scoring for the high-flying Roosters.

In the NRLW, England and Newcastle Knights half-back Georgia Roche secured a finals spot at the expense of Fran Goldthorpe’s North Queensland Cowboys. The Knights romped home to a 38-6 victory, with Roche setting up a try for her side.
